My name is Nancy. I grew up in The Netherlands as a daughter of Surinamese immigrants, with Asian, African & European heritage. I never truly fitted in anywhere, which now gives me the wisdom and understanding to hold space for people from all walks of life, and act as a bridge.

Previously, I followed a very rational and scientific path and was focused on degrees & career. Though my mother introduced me to meditation, yoga, and energy work (Reiki) from the age of 9 – it was all too woo-woo growing up. When I was 20 she told me about doing ayahuasca in Brazil — but I just rolled my eyes, since science and spirituality did not go together for me back then.

After struggling with depression and suicidal thoughts, I realized I needed a different way forward. Slowly, I began to open up more to the non-linear, non-rational inner world that my mother talked about. I started Vipassana meditation, completed a Yoga Teacher Training in India, and in 2016 attended my first ayahuasca ceremony.

Since then, I’ve slowly been learning with, and through different plants with the help of different mentors, guides, facilitators and teachers. I still invest a lot of resrouces in my knowledge (see credentials below) and even more important: in my embodiment and the way I connect to life.  It helps that I’m naturally curious,  and wish to stay teachable, humble, and  love having a broad perspective on life.  Not only have I been learning from beautiful teachers, I also learned firsthand how the plants and fungi can be your allies when facing cancer, menopause and death. How Krakti Retreats is formed

Joy, freedom, authenticity and harmony are at the core of how I wish to live. My personal intention, and for Krakti Retreats, is therefor to be anchors for these qualities the best way we can. I am incredibly grateful for being able to guide people at Krakti Retreats, and grateful for everyone who chose, and will choose to journey with Krakti. 

Coming from a mixed background, and understanding the intricacies of life, I made Krakti a space where  everyone can explore their own truth, in their own way — free from dogma, expectations, or fixed ideas. 

Krakti is a kind, open space, where you feel supported to reconnect with your own inner strength and wisdom.

If we talk about healing, to me, that means living and connecting from our own heart space and authenticity. We all carry the capacity to “heal”, and reclaim our deepest Self. And when we live from that place — honest and true — we naturally contribute to the healing of the world around us.
