Our view on microdosing with psilocybin

Happiness sells, and often microdosing is sold as such: a happy pill. And even though it’s partly true, there is much more to microdosing.

Microdosing with psilocybin preferably isn’t about a quick fix or an instant escape. Rather, it is better approached as a conscious practice of connecting more deeply with yourself. Through tiny, carefully measured doses taken below the threshold of noticeable effects, microdosing opens up your inner world, helping you access a wider range of emotions, thoughts, and sensations. It’s an invitation to rediscover parts of yourself: joy, creativity, sadness, and even tiredness, parts of you that normally might remain hidden or repressed. With care this internal connection can help you in showing up more authentic.

First, What is Microdosing?

Microdosing involves taking very small, sub-perceptual amounts of psilocybin mushrooms. These doses are designed so that you don’t experience any overt psychedelic high or disruption to daily functioning. Instead, microdosing gently expands your awareness and emotional range, making it easier to engage with yourself.

Microdosing opens up your perception

When microdosing, you may notice feeling more open to your inner states – it allows you to widen your perception. This includes the marketed heightened creativity and joy – AND it can also bring up difficult emotions like sadness or fatigue. The latter is important to take into account, because when marketing sells us “happy pills” and the more difficult states come up, people might think microdosing is not working – but it is!

Tips on how to approach microdosing

Because microdosing opens up your senses, it’s wise to work with it intentionally. Here are some things you can take do to invite in all of you – the easy and the more difficult:

  • Set Intentions: Setting clear intentions activates your brain’s preparedness and helps your subconscious open up to the experience. This mindset shift prevents treating microdosing as just another quick fix drug, and instead positions it as a conscious practice.
  • Create Space: Carve out a safe, nurturing space when you microdose, at least for the first four hours. Engage in activities that you perceive as nurturing. Think of writing, drawing, dancing, singing, meditating, or gentle exercise.

Microdosing is a beautiful ally in our journey back to our authentic selves – as long as we approach it consciously and leave behind the quick fix mindset as much as we can. We can only become more authentic, when we raise our capacity to hold all of us.

We offer a microdosing starter’s package, that has been carefully put together so that over the course of 10 weeks, you can discover the dose that is truly sub-perceptual for you. This gradual and intentional approach supports finding your ideal microdose in a guided and structured way. The schedule is designed around gradually trying different doses, providing enough microdosing days for experimentation, and allowing sufficient breaks to reset tolerance and observe your experience.
